Meet Steve Poulter
Steven Poulter has been in the financial markets for more than 30 years. Originally from Boston, he began as a retail stockbroker in 1995 after passing the Series 7 and Series 52 exams. In 1997 he became one of the early figures behind Maverick Trading, during the formative years of electronic day trading. Since around 2000, Steve has built his trading around one question: how can traders use the markets to generate consistent cash flow instead of trying to predict whether a stock will go up or down? That led him to specialize in options income strategies, particularly credit spreads, along with covered calls and cash-secured puts. Steve is a trader who teaches. His approach centers on probability, risk management, and a repeatable process, grounded in decades of real-world experience through bull markets, bear markets, crashes, and bubbles.
